Recently our community was shook by a
threat written on one of the outside tables of the Junior High. The threat
stated that on 05-25-2007 (the last day of school) thirteen people would be
killed at the High School. Also being the School Resource Officer for Pryor
Schools, Sgt. Adams was the first one called to the scene. As the days passed,
guns were found nearby the Junior High next to a bush and two other copycat type
writings were found at different schools. Sgt. Adams, with his first hand
knowledge of suspected students, was able to assist with the investigation and
apprehension of suspects which served to calm to an extent the fears of parents
and the students.
Sgt. Adams, from the onset of this
terrorist act, took charge coordinating with the school administration, each
school, seven in all and Police Department personal (12 paid Patrol and 7
Reserve Officers). Posting Police Officers at every school throughout the school
day and at every school function such as 6th and 9th grade
promotions and ultimately the High School graduation ending the school year
without further incident.
For the past twenty years Sgt. Adams has placed the youth of our
community as his top priority. |
